Nice to have some solidity among the scuttlebutt. Following confirmation this morning that Michael Denny has been promoted to SVP, Worldwide Studios Europe, SCEE has confirmed that the decision to can London Studios games Eight Days and The Getaway came from the higher-ups.

“It was a global decision,” said a rep when asked if Denny personally made the move.

Denny reports into Phil Harrison’s replacement, Shuhei Yoshida.

Eight Days and The Getaway were dropped in early June, with SCEE putting the cancellations down to “redistribution of resources and budget”.

Si questo si sapeva credo, comunque avevano specificato, correggendo il comunicato che avevano rilasciato, che era stata fermata la produzione dei due giochi e non cancellati...se ne riparlerà in futuro, come già detto il motore grafico di 8 Days esiste, quindi Sony darà l'ok potranno riprendere il progetto...

Siamo in regime di rumor pieno, una voce di corridoio assolutamente non confermata: stando a quanto riportato da Kotaku, che a sua volta si riferisce ad una non precisata "fonte interna", pare che Heavenly Sword 2 (titolo che peraltro non è mai stato ufficialmente confermato dal publisher) sia stato cancellato.
Il progetto, viene riportato, era già in lavorazione da alcuni mesi, e sarebbe stato bloccato perché visto come "non commercialmente utile" da Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, che avrebbe sottoposto la decisione di chiudere i lavori durante un meeting di "emergenza" al team Sony Cambridge.
Oltre a questo, i Ninja Theory, che come già riferito in precedenza non stavano comunque lavorando al seguito di Heavenly Sword, pare abbiano deciso di lasciare i propri uffici nei pressi di Sony Cambridge, per spostarsi altrove, forse a marcare più decisamente il loro passaggio verso nuovi lidi.
Attendiamo ovviamente delle conferme, per quanto riguarda questo titolo che potrebbe, nell'eventualità descritta dal rumor, essere il terzo progetto chiuso da SCEE dopo Eight Days e The Getaway.

Spero non sia confermato il rumor in quanto lo ritengo un bel gioco, anche divertente (però se devono mettere un maschio al posto della gnocca, allora è meglio che lo cancellano )

Non so dove hai preso la news, ma io avevo letto che questo rumor diceva che loro ci stavano lavorando e SCEE li ha fermati, poi non so....;.

“We (Ninja Theory) never started work on HS2 as we wanted to focus on new multiplatform IP. Sony owns the IP for HS and we have never been privy to what they would do with it,

As for moving, we have been planning to move to larger premises for future expansion for the best part of a year. There is nothing bitter about the move.

And the rumour that the team has been disbanded is ridiculous. We have had an unbelievably loyal team especially as we went through some difficult times securing a new publishing deal. We have a new publisher and are busy on our new project which is going very well so far.

HS is far from our thoughts at the moment.

Comunque rileggendo bene, mi pare che Sony stessa ci stava lavorando, ma questi son solo rumor.....

Ma era una cosa che già si sapeva da tempo...penso sia la stessa situazione di 8 Days e cioè per il momento HS2 non è previsto ma questo non vuol dire che in futuro possano farlo uscire...tutto dipende da Sony...

From what I have been told, Microsoft is looking to pay Capcom an undisclosed amount, for timed exclusivity of Resident Evil 5. It is still not known if Capcom has accepted the offer… The information we got, was only that Microsoft has made the offer.

If this is going to be announced it will be @ E3. Similar to the GTAIV "showing of the tattoo" a couple of years ago.

A me personalmente non interessa in quanto non sono un appassionato di quel genere di giochi (non ammazzatemi!!!), certo sarebbe un bel colpo da parte di Microsoft, ma imho è solo un rumour e tale resterà...

In questo momento mi aspetto molti più fatti da parte di Sony che da parte di Microsoft...
