Hack Samsung.Problemi. ( e non sono l'unico)

Hey all, I just got my 360 tonight and have been doing research on these forums for about the last month. I have an xbox and learne how to make it sparkle from everyone's insight on this forum, so to begin I thank everyone. I have been scouring over the forums for hours tonight and am having a bit of a problem. I cannot connect my Xbox 360 drive to my on board SATA. I have a via 8237 chipset (mobo ASUS KM-400), that has two SATA connections inside, but everytime I connect the xbox 360 to the mobo and power up the computer, the computer hangs when scanning for sata devices and then says no bios installed. I have seen a few other people with similair problems, but to no avail. I have already hex edited (which I learned tonight) the mtkflash to go with the VIA 8237, but it didn't help. I tried turning on the xbox after the computer was running, before, etc. The problem is that the sata device, in this case the 360 is not being recognized by the pc. I have tried upgrading drivers, but no luck. If anyone has any ideas of what may be able to be done to connect the two, it would be great, I am out of ideas. Thanks

the mtkflash that comes with the firmware package works with the via 8237, so you can use that
boot up the pc till you get to the a:\
type in the mtkflash command: mtkflash r /m orig.bin
switch on the xbox 360
wait 2/3 seconds
then press enter on your pc keyboard
your firmware should now start to be read

Is the power on of the xbox 360 a total timing issue when I need to turn it on? I tried that last night and maybe I waited too long. My other question, which may be the problem too, as I searched for a solution to this problem I found that other people had the issue of when the xbox was on and I was booting to dos, the system kind of hangs up at where it says that it is scanning for drives and to press tab. (wow that was a run on sentence). Then it says that bios was not detected and press g. Is that normal? I am confused like none other. I have been trying with the 2.0 firmware C4e. Should I try another mtkflash? I also hexedited as well for the via 8237 using my sata controller (on board) info from msinfo32. I may have done that wrong I did go over the tut 3 or 4 times.


Did you remove all other devices and disable your IDE ports in the bios?

Did you try the /sata switch?

Did you look for Onboard SATA settings in the bios and change them?

You don't need the bios to detect the drive.. so don't worry about that.

(You do have a Samsung drive right???)


I removed power and ide cables from both of the hard drives and I disabled them in the bios as well. I didn't remove any of my pci cards (I read somewhere that by having a nvidia graphics card may screw up the reading of the sata drive- both my vid card and on board video are both nvidia). I tried the /sata switch but it still wouldn't detect the xbox samsung drive. My bios states that sata is enabled. I will try to do it all again with changing the timing of the power on for the xbox. Do you have to change the settings for the sata to native instead of ide (because my bios doesn't offer that option)? I do have a sammy drive by the way and am trying to flash with xtreme firmware 2.0. Does the mtkflash version possibly have something to do with the problem that the system always hangs when executing?

I have tried to flash my samsung drive on a ASRock motherboard with the VIA 8237 motherboard. It does give problems with booting (press 'g' to continue). After a lots of retries I managed to read out the bios of the samsung drive (switching the power of the xbox on, and after two seconds start rtkflash), but I never was able to do that again.
Using another PC (A gigabyte) solved my problem. Had to use the /sata switch.

A me succede la stessa identica cosa con la mia ASUS A7V600 con chip Via 8237. Appena accendo la xbox 360 per farla vedere dal pc, nel dos, si inchioda tutto e devo resettare!>>> Hack quindi al momento impossibile da eseguire sul mio samsung MS28 (contrariamente a quanto dice la nostra guida su tribe). ehm scusa? che commento è??? a questo punto non rispondere.

ogni tanto succede anche a me, risolvo molto semplicemente :
non accendere la console all'avvio, vai fino al dos, dicita la solita scritta x backuppare il firm (mtkflash r /m orig.bin) ma non premere invio!
ora accendi la console, aspetta 2 sec e premi invio! se funzia come da me non dovrebbe bloccarsi e dovresti poter procedere!

vai nel bios della scheda madre e imposta il lettore xbox360 come master sul canale sata 1 e togli l' hard disk sata se lo tieni e metti un semplice IDE su flat in ultimo prova in modo da evitare conflitti tra periferiche....
PS il lettore non deve avere dischi inseriti dentro, poi se nel bios è riconosciuto non ci sono altri problemi...

dvkz il tuo metodo non mi funzia. Si inchioda sempre e comunque appena accendo la 360
Gabe, nel bios non esiste nulla che mi permette di fare quello che tu dici ( e non posso tanto meno vedere se nel bios mi riconosce il lettore). Ho provato a fare l'operazione con un hd ide. Ora proverò a farla con un HD sata

Ho appena notato una cosa però: se accendo pc e 360 insieme, il pc avanza nel caricamento. Arriva al controllo degli sata e mi da errore: lo stesso del tipo inglese "It does give problems with booting (press 'g' to continue). ". Però poi entrando nel dos posso scrivere tranquillamente il comando. Il problema è che la lettura del firmware si blocca allo 00% (quindi suppongo che non vede il lettore).

Ho trovato quella che forse è una soluzione. Seguitemi: allora premetto che ho collegato un hd ide ( con i files necessari all'hacking) un hd sata e il lettore samsung. Ho visto che collegando anche il l'hd sata, quando accendo la 360 per il comando mtkflash r /m /sata orig.bin, il pc non mi si inchioda più!
Il problema è che non so a che porta il lettore è connesso. Ho le seguenti opzioni:
1:ide sec slave (non penso sia questo...)
2:XTREME PRI MASTER ( che sia questo?)
3:VIA 8237 PRI MASTER ( o che sia questo?)

innanzi tutto ti consiglio di staccare il lettore del pc (quello che chiama ide sec slave).
poi si tratta solo di provare se è xtreme pri master o via 8237 pri master... penso il 2°!

allora hd 1 IDE con cavo flat settato su master vedi pin dietro HD
poi collega solo il lettore xbox360 al canale sata.
Accendi la 360 poi il pc e lo riconosce al 99% oppure hai lo stesso problema che avevo io ossia DRIVERS del bios della tua motherboard incompatibili... quindi 1 prova ad aggiornare il bios... 2 se non và comprati un controller sata compatibile
3 se sei proprio sfigato vai da qualcuno che possiede una motherboard compatibile.... CIAOZ

mmm. Andro da un mi9o amico che possiede scheda madre con chipset via e supporto alle sata. Questa dovrebbe quindi funzionare ( è più recente della mia)

io ho la stessa piasta madre tua, ho risolto cosi, ma ripeto ke cmq il mio lettore era un samsumg ms25 e non ms28, quindi non so se la cosa possa funzionare lo stesso.
1) Acceso xbox360 ed una volta avviata la dash ho staccato il cavo sata dal lettore, a questo punto mi si e riavviata la console ed e ritornata alla dash, e fin qui e tutto normale.
2) Avviato pc con floppy autopartente, con dentro mtkflash, o aspettato finke nel dos non venisse la scritta A:/
3) A questo punto ho attaccato il cavo sata dalla piastra madre al lettore della console.
4) Digitato il comando (a:/mtkflash r orig.bin) e non (mtkflash r/m/sata orig.bin) o altri tipi di comando.
5) Ora se hai altre periferiche attaccate ai controller ide ti verra la scritta come da te citato
1:ide sec slave
2:XTREME PRI MASTER
3:VIA 8237 PRI MASTER
Ovviamente selezionerai il 3, mentre se stakki tutte le periferike ti partira in automatico la lettura del tuo firmware samsung,e te la andra a salvare sul floppy.
6) Spegni il pc, stacca il cavo sata dall'x360 e ricollega il tuo hard disk fai ripartire il windows, salvati il tuo firmware originale in 2256000 posti, basta ke non te lo perdi e successivamente vai a modificarlo con xtreme3.3, o per lo meno e quello ke ho usato io.
7) Una volta ke avrai il tuo firmware nuovo ke si kiamera x33.bin lo andrai a salvare sul floppy dove precedentemente avevi messo mtkflash.
8) Spegni il pc e scollega le periferike.
9) Fai ripartire il pc con il floppy inserito, come gia mensionato prima fino a ritornare alla skermata a:/
10) Ricollega il cavo sata al lettore dell'x360 e questa volta scriverai il comando (a:/mtkflash w x33.bin)
11) Spegni il pc.
12) Spegni la console
13) Ricollega tutti i cavi del pc e della console come li avevi originariamente.
Il gioco e fatto.
Spero ke anke a te funzioni ripeto, la mia era ms25 e non ms28.
Alcuni passaggi l'ho saltati del tipo creare floppy autopartente entrare nel bios selezionare come boot primario il floppy eccc... perke son gia mensionati nelle guide o per lo meno spero ke ci arrivi da solo

L'unica cosa che hai fatto diversa da me è stata di, prima di accendere il pc, accendere la 360, aspettare il caricamento della dash, e poi staccare il cavo sata. Che sia questo che evita alla mia scheda madre di impiantarsi nel momento in cui eseguo il tuo punto
