    Hitman revealed, sort of - IO talks plot, gameplay and engine tech
    Expect "huge, checkpoint-free, sandbox levels"
    In a rather surprising turn of events, IO Interactive has published an open letter to fans about the first next generation Hitman game, which is currently untitled. The game is IO's "total focus" at present, and will launch on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
    "In the next game you will experience a globetrotting Agent 47 at the prime of his career - the apex predator stalking his prey across the world, with the support of his long-term handler Diana Burnwood and the whole of the ICA," the letter begins. "The game concentrates on the core Hitman fantasy of using a wide range of tools to take out a diverse group of targets across expansive, exotic locations around the world."

    The project takes a few cues from the divisive Hitman: Absolution, but also harkens back to older, better-regarded titles like Hitman: Blood Money. "We are building this game on the backbone of the Glacier 2 engine, using the best parts and what we have learnt through Hitman: Absolution and drawing inspiration from past titles like Contracts and Blood Money to fulfil the core Hitman fantasy.
    Pleasingly, Hitman on Xbox One will impose fewer restrictions on the player's ability to experiment than Absolution. "That means we're packing in an extreme level of detail on the largest levels we have ever built for a Hitman game. We've adopted an open, non-linear level design approach to the game, ensuring the game will play out across huge, checkpoint-free, sandbox levels. Our aim is to create living, breathing and believable levels which will allow gamers to play around with the AI to create those unique moments every fan of the Hitman franchise loves."
    The new game will feature Contracts Mode, in which players create and share assassination challenges. "You will also be glad to hear that we have removed 47's magic pockets," the letter continues. "We believe that's all we need to say about that subject."
    Expect more details soon - presumably, the game will appear at E3. "As we get further into 2014, we will reveal more and get into much closer contact with all of you. There are so many things we have planned and we are extremely excited for the future of Hitman. Thank you all for your dedication. We will share much, much more in the coming months."
    All this follows a report that the new Hitman had been cancelled - it's possible that there's another project we don't know about, which has now been relegated to the dustbin. Any hopes/fears for the new Hitman?

    Riguardo a Hitman nextgen:
    - Visiteremo luoghi esotici alla ricerca delle prede da assassinare con l’aiuto di Diana Burnwood e dell’organizzazione ICA;

    -Numerosi strumenti ed armi a disposizione tra cui molte di esse provenienti dai capitoli precedenti ed altre inedite;

    -Glacier 2 è il motore grafico utilizzato per la realizzazione del gioco con degli accorgimenti;

    -Livelli più vasti rispetto ai capitoli precedenti della saga (che si tratti di un open world?);

    -L’Agente 47 non potrà portare con se un certo numero di armi o strumenti voluminosi (decisione presa per rendere il gioco più realistico possibile);

    -La modalità Contratti tornerà con tutte le caratteristiche le quali verranno migliorate.

    Evolve Hunters – Meet The Trapper and Support Classes

    In continuing coverage of Turtle Rock’s next-gen first-person shooter Evolve, we learn about two new Hunter classes; the Trapper and Support.
    Earlier this week, we met Markov, a member of the Assault class. Today, courtesy of GameInformer, we meet Griffin, a member of the Trapper class, and Hank, a member of the Support class.
    As we learned in our previous report, each class type in Evolve is made up of a number of different characters, each with their own unique abilities, along with one ability that is shared amongst all members of that class.
    The Trapper
    As a Trapper, Griffin’s job is to detect and contain monsters.
    To help him achieve this, he carries a special Harpoon Gun that will tether creatures to Griffin, preventing them from escaping. As a monster, attacking Griffin will allow you to break free, but at the cost of diverting your attention away from other Hunters.
    Griffin also can aid in reconnaissance tactics by placing Sound Spikes at chosen locations to help ping monsters within range. He also has access to a handy submachine gun for offensive measures whenever he isn’t on trapping duties.
    Shared between all Trappers is the Mobile Arena ability which creates a large dome-shaped energy field that keeps friends and foes from entering or leaving the area. This ability, along with their responsibility to trap and control monsters, makes the Trapper class a key player in Evolve’s 4 vs. 1 gameplay.

    The Support
    Meet Hank. His job is to ensure fellow Hunters keep kicking ass.
    With his Shield Gun, Hank can temporarily grant teammates invulnerability which can be especially helpful when used in conjunction with the Medic’s healing abilities.
    For offensive measures, Hank can bust out his assault rifles to deal some damage, but he also has access to a nifty laser cutter that can not only deal extra damage, but also be used to literally point to enemy locations at the same time. He can also call in a devastating area-of-effect attack called the Orbital Barrage – a fantastic ability used alongside the Trapper’s Harpoon Gun.
    As with all members of the Support class, Hank has the ability to cloak himself for short periods of time, which is great for setting up surprise attacks or while reviving allies.

    Fps, fps online, fps cooperativi, f2p, tutta roba interessante moltissimi ma non per me...

    giocherò giusto quei titoli single player che mi interessano, e un paio di giochi di corse.

    Bound by Flame, the RPG in the works at Spiders Studios, has set of screenshots and concept art available courtesy of its official website.

    Bound by Flame puts players in the role of a mercenary possessed by a flame demon who must choose between the powers offered or keeping their humanity with heroic talents.

    The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4 and Xbox 360 in Q2 2014.

    Si sta avverando esattamente ciò che avevamo previsto... Questa è la gen degli FPS e più in lá dei f2p...io voglio giochi nuovi, nuove IP , non reboot o seuel/prequel o rifacimenti di ps3....

    Scusa ma tipo the witcher 3? dragon age Inquisition? Ryse? infamous? Lord of the fallen? ecc... o_O a me tutti fps non sembrano e ci sono anche nuove IP...poi se i seguiti sono della qualità di the witcher mio dio ben vengano!

    Nonostante io sia uno di quelli non ancora disposti a passare alla new gen, questo dramma all FPS non lo vedo, ci sono tanti generi diversi in cantiere e arriveranno. sinceramente mi preoccupa di più il fatto che i 1080p non siano ancora uno standard assicurato e che roba tipo fisica e IA siano ancora saldamente old gen.....

    ma del resto si diceva la stessa roba della gen PS360, tutto FPS, saranno tanti ma se date anche uno sguardo distratto vedete che c'è stato di tutto e di più, eccetto survival e platform che quelli sono morti dal bon (a parte kameo, gli ultimi rayman o roba scaricabile dal PSN/Marketplace non mi viene in mente altro di particolare).

    Tralasciando com'è venuto fuori di platform c'è già Knack ed è in arrivo Rayman sebbene crossgen,non è che non ci siano inoltre chissà cosa stanno facendo i MM ;)
    Samaritan non è nemmeno un gioco,ma una tech demo che fra l'altro ricordava molto un genere alla Infamous...

    Oltre a FPS/TPS sono già stati annunciati rpg,horror,automobilistici e open world e la gen è appena iniziata,io non trovo nulla per cui lamentarmi :D
