Butcher Bay team to create third Riddick game
It's an MMO-type experience with mercs

Vin Diesel has revealed that he and the folk of Tigon Studios are working on "the third chapter" in the Chronicles of Riddick series, having reassembled the Starbreeze Studios team responsible for 2004's acclaimed Escape from Butcher Bay.

"My diehard gamers want Tigon to deliver the third chapter in the Riddick game," Riddi- sorry, Diesel told Screencrush in an interview published last week, dug up by NeoGAF. "And we just of the past couple of months, just this year, reassembled that team from Starbreeze that brought Escape from Butcher Bay to create the third game."


Further investigation takes us back to 19th July and this IGN interview, which somehow eluded my attention at the time, because I am a fool. A fool, sirs and madams, to whom no quarter or mercy should be shown.
"The irony is the reason why we made the game was initially because we had so much more story that we wanted to include into The Chronicles of Riddick that would have cost tens of millions of dollars to include, and we had the brilliant idea of using interstitials in the video games to flesh out the mythology even more," Diesel said at the time.

"So it was kind of us being resourceful in some ways and using a less costly medium, the video game and the animatics and the cinematics in the video game, to, you know, expand the universe."

Would Vin consider working on another sequel? Turns out he would. "For all the game lovers out there, we're reassembling the team that made Escape From Butcher Bay. So we got our guys in Sweden that were part of Starbreeze and we're pulling them back together to make the next Riddick game that we're really excited about."


Diesel was able to tease a little about the game's premise and structure. "There's this huge concept which is more of a MMO game that would be centered around people being able to play mercs and it's basically the merc trade. There's a very cool game concept behind that."
What do you think? I think Tigon and Diesel have a bit of convincing to do - the studio went onto publish The Wheelman, which met with disastrous reviews - but we can all agree, surely, that another flagon of Butcher Bay-style stealth-and-fisticuffs-soup would be very welcome. Thanks to Universal Pictures for the snap of Diesel putting his swimming goggles on.

Scusate una cosa ma sono tre i blocchi della GPU con ognuna funzioni specifiche, è errato comparare solo una porzione, quella da 1,31Tflops e le 12 CU con l'intera GPU della PS4....MS ha spalmato le funzioni della GPU su tre chips, bisognerebbe quantificare il tutto per avere un giusto confronto con i 1,74Tflops e 18CU dell'intera GPU di Sony
