Just like Alpha 6 but with more balanced shadows respective to font size.
VSHEX DLX2 Alpha 6 Mod For DevHook v0.46 For PSP
Seeing that my previous attempt to speed-up ini reading caused problems for some people, I’ve reverted back to the old method. There was also a ini reading bug that appeared with the introduction of db.ini. Hopefully all ini related problems are solved, please report.
Besides ini bug correction, this version introduces game description text. This text can be configured in db.ini by adding a line to each game entry. The line should have this format:
Description=The gameplay hasn't changed dramatically,/nbut better source material makes Lego Star Wars II/na better game than its predecessor.
As you probably deducted, line breaks can be made by using “/n” within the description text. Maximum line size is now 256 characters (it was 128) but no test is made to line length as well as to the number of lines (remember this is just an alpha version), so if you overdo the number of characters or the number of lines (3 maximum recommended) don’t complain if your PSP hangs or whatever...
Check the included db.ini for some examples.
The text overflowing through the right end of the screen to the left on long titles should also be solved.
To avoid unnecessary delays while browsing, the database is now only read about a second after you stop pressing any keys or using the analog cursor. Due to this, custom titles and descriptions will not appear immediately. This is normal. On the plus side, since the database isn’t being constantly read you can easily increase its size, but I still recommend that you keep it as small as possible. Also, since it is read from top, your favorite games/UMDs should be kept at the top for faster reading.
The file location change also caused two other bugs to crawl in, both related to devhook.ini. The first one, not exactly a bug, was that the included devhook.ini was still pointing to the old location of the dummy.file, please use the new one. The second was that when devhook.ini was corrupted and re-written, it also pointed to the old location of the same file.
File size was also reduced by not including the old icons. That’s the problem of using an old framework for test work; old, unnecessary code and data is still present, but you’ll have to wait a bit longer for the new framework and a beta release.
Hoping that this Alpha version is a bit more stable than the previous, enjoy! |
