My Favorite Custom Firmware Mod (LordSturm's functions plus Harley G's recovery menu) Lordsturm's plain Mod & this edit are compatible with TheBuzzer's DevHook Mod.

Remember to uninstall any Custom Firmware Mod before starting this!

By far my favorite modification of the vshmain.prx is the LordSturms Edition, however although my personal differences with HarleyG I like her recovery ELF better. Bet some of you are suprised... heh?

This autoloads homebrew specified in the config file unless you hold the L-Trigger. The recovery screen also looks alot better.

- Recovery mode is now accessed via L+R.
- L is required to peform recovery options.
- Recovery mode has a new look, and borders are drawn. (Too sexy for recovery, too... forget it. )
- You can now assign up to 100 prx's to load!!! (He removed the 10 prx limit)
- vshmain.prx is now backed as well as copied once, press L+Triangle to switch to the backup.
-devboot is included to allow you to auto launch devhook on the last saved config turning your PSP into an multifirmware system. (this can be bypassed by holding L on bootup)
-Custom App launch is also in the config in a seperate section, remember you can only enable one app whether it be devboot or another app. You can't have devboot launch and another app launch at the same time.

I just like the way LordSturm's Mod runs things better, however using the ELF flasher (don't remember who wrote it, NOT ME!!). I found out I could mix and match the recovery ELF with another mod (in this case HarleyG's).

What I needed to do this was the recovery ELF flasher, I just replaced the recovery ELF at the root of the MemoryStick with the one from HarleyG's Mod 0.2. What this means is I get the best of both worlds. I get the button combinations of LordSturm's Mod, including the one to get into recovery mode (L+R on startup), however I get the recovery mode of HarleyG, which has more features.

WARNING: I know for a fact that LordSturm's edition has extra protection built into it in case your main prx gets corrupted, that HarleyG's uninstall feature doesn't check for. There are Vshmain.prx (custom one), recovery.elf (custom), Vshmain_Real.prx, and Vshmain_bak.prx. If Vshmain.prx failes, it automatically goes to Vshmain_Real.prx, if that fails it goes to Vshmain_bak.prx-- this is a nice safety setup that is present only in Lordsturms vshmain setup.

Warning # 1 So if you try to use harleyg's built in uninstall POC feature in this mod it won't remove one of the files, and could potentially break your PSP if it uninstalls badly. (I'm not positive on this, as I can't test recovery mode in DevHook, but lets just assume this is correct).

Warning # 2 If you try to use LordSturm's uninstall EBOOT with harelyg's recovery.elf, the recovery ELF might not get uninstalled and could potentially break your PSP if it uninstalls badly.

Solution #1 If you can get into the XMB and you wish to uninstall both of these Mods, then first use the recovery ELF flasher (included in this package), to flash LordSturm's recovery ELF back into the system, then use LordSturm's uninstaller EBOOT.

Solution #2 PENDING HarleyG has a built in recovery.elf flasher, I'm just not certain where to put the LordStrum's ELF whether on the MS0 or if I have to include the EBOOT directory for HarleyG's Custom Firmware 0.2. Any help on this and I'll update this guide.

OK Step for step guide now:

INSTALL:

1) install LordSturm's Mod, using his installer.
2) copy over the recovery ELF flasher program (in this package)
3) copy HarleyG's recovery elf to the ms0: (root)
4) Run the recovery ELF flashing program.
5) Done now- enjoy best of both worlds.

UNINSTALL TYPE 1:

1) copy recovery ELF from LordStrum's mod to ms0: (root)
2) Run the recovery ELF flashing program.
3) Run LordSturm's POC firmware Uninstaller (untested by me)
4) Done back to original 1.5 firmware (potentially still with Xflash program Mods ONLY IF you installed them, as this software doesn't mess with that area).

UNINSTALL TYPE 2 [PENDING]: (DO NOT USE YET):

1) copy recovery elf from LordSturm's Mod to ????
2) Load recovery Mode using L+R on boot-up.
3) select HarleyG's option for flashing recovery.elf provided it is put into the correct place.
4) Run LordSturm's POC Firmware Uninstaller (again untested by me)
5) Done back to original 1.5 firmware (potentially still with XFlash program Mods ONLY if you installed them as this software doesn't mess with that area.)
